Sky2PC is a DVB digital receiver that supports high-speed internet access (IP Unicast), multimedia data broadcast or web cast (IP Multicast), and Digital Satellite TV & Radio (DVB Broadcast) on today's multimedia PC's.
While cable modem companies routinely advertise speeds of 2.8 Mbits/second (100 times faster than a 28.8 k modem), Sky2PC has a sustained data rate of over 45 Mbits/s, which is about 1600 times faster than a 28.8 k modem. Sky2PC ('Sky to PC') is a flexible, production-ready satellite receiver reference design for non-networked PCs. Sky2PC can be attached internally (on PCI slot) or externally (as a USB port accessory) and supports a wide range of conditional access systems including fixed-key, smart card based, and DVB-CI.
